Various projects in Nagpur await Govt nod for transfer, swapping of land


* These proposals involve those pertaining to transfer of land for Metro Rail project, 50 acre land for KKSU extension, 27.48 hectare land for NIPER etc

Since the new Government has taken over in the State, several new projects have been proposed in Nagpur district. These proposals require transfer and swapping of land. According to sources, over 30 proposals for transfer/swapping of land are awaiting nod at the level of State Government.
These projects include ambitious Nagpur Metro Rail project, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), extension of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU), some part of Multimodal International Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) etc. Sources said that the proposals are at various stages of approval. The administrative machinery has completed formalities and even submitted compliances wherever required, and now the proposals are with the State Government.
Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister of Nagpur district, will be taking a review of these pending proposals in a meeting to be held at 11 am on Friday at Bachat Bhavan in Collectorate premises here. All the legislators, President of Zilla Parishad, heads of various departments will attend the meeting. Various pending development issues, preparations for winter session of State Legislature scheduled to commence in the city from December 7, progress of works taken up from funds allocated so far, etc would be discussed in the meeting.
Among the proposals are transfer of 40.26 hectare land at Dawha in Mouda tehsil to Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) for subsequent transfer to Forest Department for compensatory afforestation. Five hectare land at Godhni Railway in Nagpur (Rural) tehsil is to be handed over to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) for Pench-IV water treatment plant. A land admeasuring 1.71 hectare at Isasani in Hingna tehsil is to be transferred to MADC for Gajraj Project, and another 5.46 hectare at Telhara in Nagpur (Rural) tehsil to MADC for MIHAN project works.
A land measuring 26.07 hectare at Nildoh in Hingna tehsil is to be taken back from State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Firing Range, and to be handed over to Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL). In return, 60.24 hectare at Waifal (Rith) in Hingna tehsil is to be handed over for SRPF Firing Range.
Various lands in Nagpur city also are to be handed over to NMRCL for Metro Rail works. These include Mouza Sitabuldi-- 9,400 sq mtrs; 2,252.63 sq mtrs; 1,782.70 sq mtrs; 2,535.77 sq mtrs; 235.90 sq mtrs; 6,654 sq mtrs; Mouza Dhantoli-- 19,887.90 sq mtrs; 521.976 sq mtrs Dhantoli; 154.655 sq mtrs; 43.839 sq mtrs; Mouza Ajni-- 1,203.49 sq mtrs; Mouza Lendhra-- 817.589 sq mtrs; Mouza Nagpur-- 469.67 sq mtrs; 3,280.05 sq mtrs Mouza Nagpur, at different locations.
Among other important projects awaiting nod from the Government for transfer of land are KKSU extension. Of 54.17 hectare land at Kaldongri in Nagpur (Rural) tehsil, 50 acres is proposed to be handed over to KKSU for extension. The administration has forwarded the proposal to the Government in August itself. An announcement in this regard is likely to be made during Kalidas Festival starting from Friday.
Apart from this, 27.48 hectare at Mohgaon (Bujruk) in Nagpur (Rural) tehsil has been identified for NIPER. Similarly, 2 hectare land at Drugdhamna in Nagpur (Rural) tehsil is proposed to be transferred to Legal Metrology Department for setting up Referral Standards Laboratory; 24 hectare at Chicholi in Kamptee tehsil to Integrated Tribal Development Project for KG to PG School, hostel, library, gymnasium, and sports ground; 10.12 hectare at Pohi in Hingna tehsil to Employees State Insurance Corporation for 100-bedded hospital; 3 hectare land at Navegaon Khairi in Parseoni tehsil to be transferred to MTDC for creating tourism facilities; and 0.75 hectare at Umred to MHADA.
The proposals under consideration are swapping of lands with Department of Defence. Department of Defence has land in Survey Nos 164 and 165 at Koradi in Kamptee tehsil. State Government lands in Survey Nos 140, 169, 75 at Chicholi, Babulkheda, and Tandulwani respectively in Kamptee tehsil are proposed to be swapped with the lands withe Department of Defence. Bhanegaon, Waregaon-Kamptee Ghorpad road of Public Works Department is to be handed over to Defence, and the outer diversion road of Defence to be transferred to PWD in return.
