Of these, as many as 1,869 are pending with Regional Forensic Science Laboratories at Nagpur and Amravati. Forensic laboratories are helpful for investigating machinery in cases requiring DNA test, physical examination of evidence, viscera analysis, psychological examination, and cases involving ballistics and cyber issues. Besides, the cops also require help from forensic laboratories in cases of Trauma and Self Injury (TASI).
