* Also gets Income Tax exemption

Nagpur Flying Club Private Limited is now Nagpur Flying Club. The change, which appears to be minor, is actually a major step forward for the Club towards becoming a professionally run Government company.
The change has been effected following its registration under Section 25 of the Company Law. Now, Nagpur Flying Club is fully-owned Government company. Recently, it also got Income Tax exemption. B V Gopala Reddy, Divisional Commissioner and Chairman of Nagpur Flying Club, received this intimation on June 25. How do these changes affect the training provided at the Club?
“These developments are major. Registration as a Government company and Income Tax exemption will provide relief to students and their parents as they will not have to bear the burden of paying service tax at the time of securing admissions,” said M A H Khan, Managing Director of Nagpur Flying Club. Besides, students will be entitled to get education loan at low interest rate from the banks. The Club also will benefit as it will not have to pay Income Tax. “The money thus saved could be put to a better use of developing the Club infrastructure,” Khan added.
At present, the Club offers flying training for Rs 16 lakh. “This is the cheapest training available in the country,” Khan said. The fees includes expenses towards 200 hours of flying, six-months ground training and theory classes, examination fees etc.
With the latest developments, Nagpur Flying Club has come up with a new proposal. It has proposed to collaborate with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for running a Diploma in Aviation course. “While getting Commercial Pilot Licence, successful trainees will also get Diploma in Aviation from IGNOU, as per our proposal, which is yet to be crystallised,” Khan added. IGNOU diploma is recognised in 35 countries and will come as an added advantage for trainees of Nagpur Flying Club, he said.
