While
the tangle over the ‘Mahayuti’ of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv
Sena, and other parties continues in Maharashtra ahead of Legislative
Assembly polls, the leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena in Nagpur district want
the 25-years-long alliance to remain intact.
Soon after winning the
elections to the posts of Zilla Parishad (ZP) President and
Vice-President, the leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena from rural areas of the
district felt that the alliance between the two parties always helped
each other. They strongly advocated resolution of ‘whatever disputes’
between BJP and Shiv Sena, so that the ruling Congress and Nationalist
Congress Party (NCP) could be dethroned from State Government.
Krupal
Tumane, Shiv Sena MP from Ramtek, told reporters that ‘Mahayuti’ should
continue in State. “The pattern of co-operation adopted by workers of
BJP and Shiv Sena in Nagpur Zilla Parishad, is ideal. We just hope that
all the senior leaders of both the parties pay heed to the wish of
countless enthusiastic workers,” he said.
Chandrashekhar Bawankule,
Kamptee MLA and former District President of BJP, also was of the
opinion that alliance between BJP and Shiv Sena should continue. “All
the leaders, office-bearers, and workers of both the parties in Nagpur
district want the alliance to remain intact,” he added.
Adv Ashish
Jaiswal, Shiv Sena MLA from Ramtek, even went on to make a request
through media to senior leaders of both the parties -- Shiv Sena chief
Uddhav Thackeray, BJP leader Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and
State BJP chief Devendra Fadnavis. “We request them to resolve whatever
the issues, and honour the wish of countless workers of both the
parties,” he said.
BJP and Shiv Sena are not blinking over
seat-sharing formula and are firm on demanding for themselves a fixed
number of seats for Assembly elections. Asked about this contest of ‘who
gets more seats’ between both the parties, Jaiswal said that BJP and
Shiv Sena were two different parties and every one had the right to seek
more seats for itself. However, he said, to keep Congress and NCP away
from power in State, some formula must work.
